Every YouTube video is served with up to five thumbnail images at predictable URLs — from a 4K "maxresdefault" version (1280×720) down to a tiny default 120×90 preview. It runs entirely in your browser; we just hit YouTube's public thumbnail CDN at `i.ytimg.com` (no API key, no auth, no proxy).
The tool handles every YouTube URL format that exists in the wild: `youtube.com/watch?v=ID`, `youtu.be/ID`, `youtube.com/shorts/ID`, `youtube.com/embed/ID`, even raw video IDs pasted directly. Maxres (1280×720) is the standard upload size for modern videos; older videos may not have a maxres version and we'll fall back to the highest available.
